PM Abiy's Visit to Rwanda Strengthens Strategic Cooperation, Says Press Secretary

The Press Secretary of the Ethiopian Prime Minister’s Office, Billene Seyoum, reiterates the recent official visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Rwanda, which Kigali dubbed instrumental in cementing strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The Press Secretary indicated that Premier Abiy has had candid discussions on pertinent issues in the Horn of Africa with Rwandese President Paul Kagame.

She tipped that the premier, accompanied by his delegation, has visited Rwanda’s agricultural activities, its animal husbandry, poultry, and other projects that are said to be similar to Ethiopian practices.

Showing their genuine cooperation with Ethiopia, the Rwandan government has granted 7.771 hectares for the construction of the Ethiopian Embassy in Kigali.

The mayor of Addis Ababa has also signed a cooperation agreement with the mayor of Kigali to exchange best practices and modernize their respective administrations.

In her briefing, Billene highlighted that the Ethiopian delegation also took part in the 30th memorial of the Rwandan genocide, which claimed almost a million of its citizens.
