Addis Ababa City Health Bureau announced that it has launched measles vaccination aimed at reaching 628,463 children in Addis Ababa city has begun.
The campaign will last for 10 days and will target children aged 9 months to 5 years, and 314 vaccination teams have been formed and started working for this purpose, said Head of the Addis Ababa City Health Bureau, Dr. Yohannes Chala.
He indicated that the campaign will be held at 96 health centers and 1,536 temporary vaccination centers; he called on parents and guardians to bring their children.
He urged the children to receive the booster vaccine regardless of whether they have been vaccinated before, either regularly or through the campaign.
He also explained that children who have not started regular vaccination and those who have started and stopped will be vaccinated alongside the campaign.
He also explained that the campaign will be accompanied by nutritional counseling, vitamin A drops, and intestinal worm pills for pregnant and lactating mothers, identifying and referring sick children to health facilities, and identifying and referring women with fistula problems due to childbirth to treatment.
