He oversaw the design and construction of the ECA building, spearheaded the development of Bole International Airport and the Bole road, and facilitated the Nile Basin study, laying the groundwork for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) project on the Abay River. Commissioned by Emperor Haile Selassie I, he travelled to New York to study best practices, informing the subsequent construction of UN offices in Addis Ababa.
