Defense Minister Highlights Ethiopia's Ongoing Cooperation with Red Cross

Ethiopia will continue to strengthen its long-standing cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), stated Minister of Defense Engineer Aisha Mohammed.

Minister of Defense Engineer Aisha Mohammed received and held discussions today in her office with the outgoing head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation, Bruce Laurie.

The discussion focused on the cooperation between Ethiopia and the Red Cross Committee and humanitarian issues.

They also conferred on ways to further enhance the existing partnership between the two sides, according to ENA.

Minister of Defense Engineer Aisha Mohammed expressed her appreciation for the support the International Committee of the Red Cross is providing in Ethiopia, stating that Ethiopia is always committed to working closely with the committee.

The outgoing head of the committee's delegation, Bruce Laurie, on his part, expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support the Ministry of Defense provided for his work during his stay.

He indicated that the committee will continue its support in the future.

On the other hand, he commended the work Ethiopia is undertaking in respecting and implementing international humanitarian operational guidelines.

At the same time, information from the National Defense Force indicates that the newly appointed head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation, Simone Casabianca, had an introductory meeting with the Minister.
