Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Advocates for Renewed Culture of Giving

Marking the approaching Easter holiday with a shared meal earlier today, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has highlighted the Prime Minister's Office's triannual tradition of providing sustenance to its vulnerable and low-income staff.

Acknowledging the considerable effort involved in organizing these provisions, the Prime Minister urged against treating such acts as perfunctory, emphasizing instead the importance of nurturing a genuine spirit of generosity.

Drawing attention to Ethiopia's inherent capacity for self-sufficiency in production, Dr. Abiy posited that the contemporary challenge lies not in a scarcity of goods, but rather in the paradoxical reality of want amidst abundance and waste.

He attributed the rise of excessive individualism and exclusionary practices to a decline in societal values. The Prime Minister suggested that a revival of mutual support and empathy represents the key to overcoming this cultural erosion.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Abiy expressed his conviction that a renewed commitment to these principles would effectively address the needs of many citizens currently facing hardship.
