The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) Coordination Office announced that development efforts will continue relentlessly until the dam’s completion.
Deputy Executive Director Fikirte Tamer pledged push for the monumental project which she says represents a historic opportunity for all stakeholders to unite and contribute to its success.
Fikirte highlighted the pride Ethiopians feel in their collective financial and several other investments they have been engaging in.
She noted that the dam is a testament to national unity and patriotism. Equivalent to the spirit of the battle of Adwa. “This generation’s dedication mirrors the heroism of our ancestors. We’ve embraced a ‘can-do’ attitude, turning our dream of a transformative project into reality,” she stated.
The GERD, she noted, will serve as a blueprint for future infrastructure endeavors, with every phase of its construction etched into history. She also revealed plans for a grand New Year celebration in September, rallying all Ethiopians to “cut the ribbon together,” symbolizing collective triumph.
