Ethiopia's Push for Climate-Resilient Wheat Production

President Taye Atsekselassie has revealed Ethiopia's efforts to develop climate-resilient wheat. The President made this statement at the International Conference on Irrigation and Climate Change organized by the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowland Areas in Addis Ababa.

The President also stated that Africa needs large-scale agricultural investment, accurate information exchange and joint cooperation to become self-sufficient in food.

Minister of Irrigation and Lowland Areas, Abraham Belay (PhD.), on his part, said that modern irrigated agriculture is needed to cope with the pressures of climate change.

He also announced that Ethiopia will work to increase the work it has achieved in irrigated wheat.

The conference will be held for the next three days, it was learnt.
