IMF Managing Director Commends Ethiopia's Macroeconomic Reforms

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, has commended Ethiopia's implementation of macroeconomic reforms.

Georgieva held discussions with Ethiopia's Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide; Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Mamo Mihretu; and Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Assefa. Their talks focused on Ethiopia's ongoing macroeconomic reforms. They also exchanged ideas on crucial steps being taken to improve the Ethiopian economy.

Georgieva praised the Ethiopian government's focus on the sector, highlighting the achievements and remaining goals of the reforms. The discussion centered on strengthening fiscal policy and key initiatives to modernize the financial sector as part of the macroeconomic reforms.

It's noted that Georgieva arrived in Addis Ababa today for an official working visit.
