Addis Ababa Launches Major Measles Vaccination Campaign Next Week

The Addis Ababa City Health Bureau has announced that a comprehensive measles vaccination campaign will commence next week, specifically from May 6th to May 15th, 2017 E.C. This proactive measure aims to protect the city's most vulnerable population, children aged 9 months to 5 years, from the highly contagious disease.

The campaign is set to target over half a million children, ensuring that they receive the essential measles vaccine alongside additional health interventions, including vitamin A drops and intestinal worm medicine.

The Health Bureau has mobilized a dedicated workforce of more than 3,400 health professionals who will be deployed across various locations in the city to administer these vital vaccinations.
