Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Gideon Timothewos and Health Minister Dr. Mekdes Daba have paid a visit to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) in Addis Ababa.
During their visit, Dr. Gideon held discussions with Dr. Jean Kaseya, Director of the Africa CDC.
Dr. Gideon stated that Ethiopia, as a member state and host country of the African Union, provides comprehensive support for the success of Agenda 2063. He emphasized Ethiopia's contribution to strengthening the health sector in Africa, particularly through its support for ongoing initiatives.
He further explained that Ethiopia's support for the success of African Union institutions, including providing the necessary infrastructure, will continue to be strengthened.
Dr. Jean Kaseya, in turn, briefed the ministers on the Africa CDC's institutional progress, highlighting various ongoing efforts to improve public health services and conduct high-quality health research.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that Dr.Kaseya requested Ethiopia to continue its support for the strengthening of the Africa CDC.
