Fans Saluting EBC for Premiering Popular Ethiopian Novel- ‘Love Unto Crypt’

Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) has continued earning   huge appreciations from film fans as the national broadcaster has kept screening the much-anticipated television adaptation of the iconic Ethiopian novel “Fikir Eske Mekabir”, which was translated in English as Love Unto Crypt.

Written by Haddis Alemayehu, this masterpiece of Ethiopian Literature, as many in the literary circle fondly call it, took no time to earn accolades as thousands immediately reacted as it was first premiered on 11 September, coinciding with the Ethiopian New Year Celebration.

“This is overwhelmingly typical, original and well-crafted adaptation,  huge salute to EBC “ one reacted on YouTube, only moments after the release of the first episode.

“I have been breathlessly waiting for its release and found its adaptation spotless” yet another left his appreciation both to EBC and several others who made it happen.

 The adaptation is a breakthrough both for the national broadcaster and for the film industry, introducing fresh perspectives for emerging cinematographers.

The timeless tale of true love, the   novel written by Haddis Alemayehu, has transcended generations, still kept on the pick of literary history in Ethiopia.

The novel has been adapted into four seasons and 48 episodes, each approximately 45 minutes length.

 And, Sew Mehon Productions, as usual seems to make yet another revolution in the film industry, this time with a maximum care to preserve  the rich historical and cultural content the novel carries.
