The State minister for foreign affairs ambassador Misganu Arga, who attended the Ethio-China Business Forum in Addis Ababa, said that the platform plays a huge role in strengthening business-to-business and people to people relations of the two countries.
The State Minister also noted that the long-term relationship between the two countries would remain steadfast and reminded of hundreds of projects in Ethiopia that he says are being operated under the support of China.
Ambassador Misganu also explained that there is more untapped potential for cooperation in the field of trade and investment.
Ethio-China Friendship and Cooperation Committee Chairperson Betty Shue said that Ethiopia and China, which have a large population and investment potential, can achieve further huge success stories if they further strengthen their long lasting ties.
Minister of State for Trade and Regional Integration, Yasmin Wahabrebi, on the other hand said that the trade relations between Ethiopia and China are getting stronger as time goes, and more than 4 billion dollars of trade has been traded on average every year over the last five years.
At the business forum, presentations were tabled detailing potential trade and investment options available in both countries. A Chinese business delegation with more than 60 members participated in the forum along with its Ethiopian counterpart.
