Renewable energy is said to be play crucial role in harnessing the potentials of young demography.
The remark came here at the opening of the Global South-South Summit in Africa's political and diplomatic capital, Addis Ababa, under the theme: "Fostering Collaboration for Sustainable Global South."
In his keynote address to the Summit, Adviser to the Ethiopian Minister of Water & Energy, Gossaye Mengiste, stressed that the Ethiopian government remains committed to create conducive environment for the private sector and civil society partnerships in the effective utilization of renewable energy.
Key focus areas tabled during the summit include empowering marginalized communities, unlocking sustainable livelihoods, building climate resilience and facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues.
Summit participants comprising stakeholders from Africa, India and beyond, will deliberate on ways of fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer.
The summit brought together over 300 participants, including global funders, policy makers, technologists, entrepreneurs, investors, academia, and environmentalists. It also featured 30+ speakers, 20+ exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge solar innovations from Africa and India, and 10 field visits to observe innovative renewable solar energy technology in action.//
