Ethiopia's reputation in terms of the fight to freedom will be praised as it is a fight towards Africa’s independence and justice, international journalists and diplomats underlined.
Journalists coming from South Africa and China to report the 37th AU summit said that Ethiopia’s fight against colonialism and the fight for the equality, justice and freedom is proudly written in history as it will continue to be remembered.
Talking to EBC, Journalist Micheal from South Africa Broadcasting Corporation recalled Emperor Hailesilasse’s foundation works towards African unity, liberation movement, adding that the contribution of the emperor was immense in terms of achieving greater unity, cohesion and solidarity.
As Ethiopia is an origin of human kind, the journalist mentioned, the country pioneered the Pan African movement.
Deputy Spokesperson of Gambian president, Prince Abubakar Aminata on his part said that Ethiopia feels a home to him, adding that the country has immense contributions to the continent that can transcend to generations.
Since its inception Ethiopia has played a vital role in the formation of OAU (today’s AU), Youth Envoy in the African Union, Isaac Bezabeh said, adding that the immense contribution for Africa is beyond words.
China's Xinhua journalist, Li said that Ethiopia is a destination for standard buildings, a comfortable country to live in, underlining the host of the largest continental gathering on the eve of the inauguration of the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum.
