Ethiopia’s long-distance legend Kenenisa Bekele announced Wednesday he will take part in Valencia Marathon on Dec. 3.
The athlete broke the news after spending long-time off track due to injury. “I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be participating in the upcoming Valencia Marathon on December 3rd! After being sidelined due to injury, I'm back to test my endurance once again. It's been a challenging journey, but I'm feeling good and more determined to take on this incredible race,” Kenenisa wrote on his official Facebook page.
Kenenisa also disclosed he will run in newly sponsored track shoes. “What's even more special is that I'll be proudly representing my new sponsor, #ANTA, for the first time since signing with them. Their support has meant so much to me, and I can't wait to showcase their gear as I take on this new challenge.”
The athlete has extended his gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support.
“I'm incredibly grateful for every one of you, and I promise to give it my all in the future. This race marks a new beginning for me, and I can't wait to see what the future holds with my renewed health and dedication….See you in Valencia!” he said.
