Ethiopian and Saudi Arabian officials have discussed boosting agricultural cooperation. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mesganu Arga met with Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Ahmed bin Saleh bin Ayadah Al-Hamshi, to explore increased Saudi investment and trade in Ethiopia's agricultural sector.
Discussions focused on strengthening both government and private sector partnerships, finalizing agreements, and leveraging Ethiopia's geographic proximity and strong historical ties with Saudi Arabia.
Key areas of interest included Saudi imports of Ethiopian livestock, increased Saudi agricultural investment in Ethiopia, and Ethiopian imports of Saudi fertilizers, all aligning with both countries' current priorities.
