No Free Lunch Demand for Red Sea by Ethiopia as Egypt Independent Prompts

BY AHMED MOHAMMED

Ethiopia’s quest for port access has   raised   no concern among neighbors as Egypt Independent echoed Sunday words of the Egyptian Justice Party.

‘Ethiopia’s effort to establish rights to the Red Sea port raises concerns’ among neighboring countries, says Egypt Independent, quoting the party.

Ethiopia has based only to international laws when it initiated its demand to access harbors, and it is demanding no free lunch, it rather has offered attractive firms in return.

Per Egyptian Justice Party, Egypt   itself admitted, “The speech was well-received by Ethiopian media and political circles.”

Ethiopia’s call for regional integration caused   no concern as Egypt Independent tries to incite mistrust among neighboring countries and their respective peoples.

Threat of existence is behind Ethiopia’s demand for a seaport, as Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed affirmed.  The demand originated solely from maintaining the economic welfare of 120 plus million Ethiopians and achieving the much demanded East African regional economic and political progress and integration.

And of course, how could Ethiopia’s quest for Red Sea access be seen as a taboo, when the same quest is right for many other distant nations.

The statement, which Egypt Independent picked from Egyptian Justice Parry, is baseless and against the reality on the ground.
