Ethiopia, Israel Forge Stronger Trade Alliance

Speaker of the Ethiopian House of Federation Agegnehu Teshager, affirmed that Ethiopia and Israel are set to enhance their trade and investment partnership.

Speaking at the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Forum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Agegnehu emphasized the historical diplomatic ties that have existed for centuries between the two nations.

He highlighted the importance of expanding collaboration in the trade, investment, and tourism sectors.

Ethiopia's robust economic growth presents lucrative opportunities for Israeli investors, particularly in diverse sectors such as technology and agriculture.

Agegnehu noted the Ethiopian government's commitment to advancing science, technology, and modern agricultural practices, asserting that joint efforts in these areas would yield mutual benefits and strengthen bilateral relations.

Speaker of the Israeli House of Representatives, Amin Ohana for her part, echoed this sentiment, reaffirming Israel's dedication to deepening its strategic partnership with Ethiopia.

Both leaders agreed on the necessity of elevating their current economic and diplomatic relations to new heights, recognizing the pivotal role of parliamentary cooperation in achieving these goals.
