Ethiopia’s Minister of Labour and Skills, Muferiat Kamil, convened with William Alexander MacDonald, the High Commissioner of Barbados to Kenya and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Nairobi.
This meeting, held this morning, aimed to strengthen collaboration on human resource development and employment initiatives between the two nations.
Minister Muferiat took to social media to express optimism about the discussions, highlighting their focus on actionable strategies stemming from a prior bilateral meeting between Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley.
During that encounter, both leaders recognized the urgent need for enhanced human resource development and employment opportunities within their countries.
Today’s dialogue centred on implementing the Human Resource Development and Employment List, a critical framework designed to identify and address workforce needs.
Minister Muferiat emphasized that the conversations were not only fruitful but also laid the groundwork for tangible outcomes that could benefit both nations.
In her remarks, she extended gratitude to High Commissioner MacDonald for his dedication to fostering a collaborative partnership.
