South Sudanese Doctors Take Exams in Ethiopia Under Scholarship Program

Fifty-seven South Sudanese doctors are currently taking a professional examination in Ethiopia as part of a scholarship program. This year's Ethiopian Residency Matching Program (ERMP) is part of a larger initiative offering scholarships to South Sudanese students across various fields.

Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan, Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi, highlighted Ethiopia's significant contribution to South Sudanese education, stating that it provides more scholarships than any other country. This year alone, Ethiopia awarded 629 scholarships to international students. South Sudan's Undersecretary of Health, Dr. Harriet Akello Pasquale, expressed gratitude for Ethiopia's consistent support since 2014, emphasizing the importance of investing in human resources for effective healthcare delivery.

Ethiopia has a history of supporting South Sudanese medical students, with over 100 specialists graduating since 2014. The program underscores the strong cooperation between the two nations. The story is from Eye Radio.
