The Ethiopian Federal Police has entered a new era with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Simulation Training Center.

Commissioner General Demelash Gebre Michael, in his address during the launch, emphasized the transformative potential of the newly acquired drone technology. He highlighted that these advanced tools would be instrumental in bolstering efforts to combat criminal activities, including the pervasive challenges of smuggling and illegal human trafficking.
The Commissioner General specifically noted the drones' capability to enhance border security and improve surveillance within urban areas, providing the police with a crucial “eye in the sky.”

This specialized vehicle is designed to manage road closures swiftly, handle VIP escorts, and provide a mobile command centre during emergencies.
