Digital ID registration is underway in Tigray region at 41 centers.
Ethio Telecom's Northern Region announced that national digital ID registration is being conducted at 41 fixed and mobile centers in the Tigray region.
Ethio Telecom is known to have launched a nationwide digital ID registration in collaboration with the National Identification Program.
The district has been providing digital ID printing services, including Fayda digital ID registration, in the Tigray region for the past eight months, according to Mulugeta Weldeselassie, Operations Director of Ethio Telecom's Northern Region.
He stated that the Northern Region district is providing the service through 26 fixed and 15 mobile centers. He also indicated that the service is being made available to customers either at these centers or through mobile units, allowing people to access the service at their location or while visiting the centers for other services.
He noted that the district has enabled over 235,000 citizens to obtain digital IDs so far, and that work is underway to expand the centers further. He also mentioned that awareness campaigns are being conducted to help the public understand the benefits of the Fayda digital ID.
