National Palace a Repository of Ethiopian History, Says President Taye

President Taye Atskeselassie stated that the National Palace is not merely a beautiful architectural masterpiece, but also a repository of Ethiopian history.

The renovated palace was officially opened to the public, with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, other high-ranking government officials, and guests in attendance.

President Taye, speaking at the opening ceremony, emphasized the historical significance of the building.

He explained that the Emperor's original vision in constructing the palace was to embody modernity, showcase a return to strength, and establish Addis Ababa as a symbol of freedom and a global capital.

He highlighted the palace's prominent role in diplomacy and international relations.

The President expressed gratitude to those who faithfully preserved the palace and its contents throughout various regime changes.

He stated that making the palace accessible to the public reflects an understanding of its historical importance.

The renovated National Palace, including its collection of artifacts housed within a museum, is now open to the public, reported AMN.
