The Oromia regional government has signed a peace agreement with Jal Shoo Negaso, one of the top army commanders of an armed group operating in the Oromia Regional State.
The peace agreement was signed today in Addis Ababa by Oromia Regional President Shimelis Abdisa and Jal Shoo Negaso, a top commander of the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA).
Jal Shoo Negaso inked the peace agreement at the Oromia Regional State President's office after accepting the government's peace offer.
Ethiopian Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, expressed gratitude to those who heeded the call for peace.
For his part, Regional State President, Shimelis Abdisa, stated, "On behalf of the regional government, I thank you for accepting the Oromo people's traditional call for peace."//
