The Ethiopian Day of Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples is set to be a vibrant celebration aimed at fostering national unity, as announced by the House of Federation.

The 19th Day of Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples will be celebrated under the theme "National Consensus for National Unity."

The Secretary of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Relations, Democratic Unity, and Constitutional Studies of the House of Federation, Banchiyirga Melese, gave a statement to the media regarding the celebration.

She stated that this year's celebration will be held in Arba Minch, Southern Ethiopia, organized by the Southern Ethiopia Regional State and coordinated by the House of Federation.

The celebration will begin on November 25, 2017, and will be held for five consecutive days under the names: Brotherhood Day, Togetherness Day, Southern Ethiopia Day, Dialogue Day, and Ethiopian Day.

"Brotherhood Day," celebrated on November 25, will be marked by a joint run and traditional sports events.

"Togetherness Day," celebrated on November 26, will feature a trade show and bazaar.

"Southern Ethiopia Day," celebrated on November 27, will showcase the region's culture through a festival.

"Dialogue Day," celebrated on November 28, will see all regions and city administrations pass around the peace torch. Discussions aimed at strengthening the culture of dialogue will be held, and a communal meal will be shared.

The culmination of the celebration, "Ethiopian Day," will be held on November 29, where all nationalities will showcase their cultures in public. The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Cup competition will also take place on this day.

The Day of Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples is expected to play a significant role in building a society that embraces consensus as its culture.
