Germany Boosts Ethiopia's Economy with €56.5 Million

Germany has announced a €56.5 million aid package for Ethiopia. It will support various initiatives, including the Productive Safety Net Program, promoting small businesses, education, land governance, and rural value chains. 

This commitment follows discussions at the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance. Both nations reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening their collaboration as Ethiopia advances its Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda 2.0.

During these discussions, Finance Minister Ahmed Shide highlighted the critical importance of international support in achieving Ethiopia's economic reform goals. He reiterated the country's commitment to these reforms and the vital role that partners like Germany play in this transformative process. 

German Ambassador Jens Hanefeld recognized the longstanding relationship between the two countries and expressed a desire to enhance bilateral ties further. Additionally, Marcus von Essen, the Head of Division for East Africa at the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, voiced his enthusiasm for exploring new cooperative opportunities. 

State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew expressed gratitude for Germany's steadfast support, emphasizing the shared vision for a prosperous future.
