EBC Leadership Visits Ethiopian Federal Police to Strengthen Media and Security Collaboration

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC), Mr. Getnet Tadesse, along with members of EBC's management team, visited the Ethiopian Federal Police to observe the latest technological advancements being employed by the police force.

During the visit, the delegation was warmly received by Demelash Gebremichael, the Commissioner General of the Ethiopian Federal Police. In his address, Commissioner Demelash emphasized EBC’s pivotal role as a leading media institution in Ethiopia. He acknowledged that EBC has continued to grow in stature and influence, contributing significantly to the media landscape of the country. He urged the corporation to further enhance its role in facilitating the flow of information between the police and the public, highlighting the importance of EBC’s responsibility in maintaining transparency and promoting security.

The Commissioner noted that the Federal Police, as a service-oriented institution working closely with the community, relies heavily on media to effectively communicate its services and initiatives. He expressed confidence that EBC’s collaboration with the police would create more opportunities to inform and engage the public, thereby strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the community.

Mr. Getnet Tadesse, CEO of EBC, responded by commending the strong partnership between EBC and the Ethiopian Federal Police. He highlighted that the collaboration between the two institutions is not only growing but is also yielding tangible results. Mr. Getnet expressed optimism that the visit would lead to even more effective cooperation, enhancing both media output and the operational capacity of the police.

He also stressed that continued dialogue and collaboration between media and law enforcement are essential for ensuring that the Federal Police can fulfill its mandate to protect the safety and security of the nation and its citizens. EBC, he assured, is committed to playing its part in this endeavor.

Other members of the EBC management team also shared their thoughts, expressing their appreciation for the advancements made by the Ethiopian Federal Police in utilizing technology.
