During the session, the council is thoroughly discussing the federal government's draft budget for the 2018 fiscal year.
Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide is currently receiving questions from members of the council. Council members have raised questions regarding the adequacy of the budget allocation for various projects.
It was suggested that a population and housing census should be conducted to ensure the budget allocation is based on fairness.
Questions were also raised concerning the need for road maintenance and project construction in various regions and the call for increased budget subsidies for regions.
