Ethiopian government planned to proliferate MESOB One-Stop Service Center Project nationwide after successful test in Addis Ababa.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, the Ethiopian government planned to roll out the MESOB One-Stop Service Center program across the country after the institutions that took part in the reform's initial phase performed well.
After presiding over the Main Committee on Public Service and Administration Reform's fifth regular meeting, the Deputy PM gave a briefing on the initiative's advancement.
He emphasized how important the administration and public service sectors are to "ensuring that residents fully benefit from government services and promoting comprehensive national development."
The committee confirmed that the institutions participating in the first rollout of MESOB "are delivering services efficiently and in alignment with established standards" after evaluating their service delivery performance at the meeting.
The readiness of institutions preparing to join the second phase was also reviewed, alongside preliminary activities by regional states and the city administrations of Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa, Temesgen said.
Temesgen explained that an operational roadmap has been outlined for institutions entering the second round, guiding how “they should implement their services across all regions and the two city administrations.”
The MESOB initiative is a flagship public service reform designed to modernize government service delivery through streamlined, citizen-centered operations in Ethiopia.
It has been learned that the Center’s expansion reflects the Ethiopian government’s broader commitment to improving transparency, efficiency, and accessibility within public institutions.
