Senior Chinese Official Praises Ethiopia's Development, Commends Addis Ababa's Transformation

Ethiopia's recent development progress, most notably the significant transformation underway in its capital, Addis Ababa, has drawn praise from a high-ranking Chinese official. Gao Yunlong, serving as both vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), conveyed his positive impressions during a recent meeting with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh.

During the high-level discussions, which centered on deepening bilateral economic relations, investment, and trade cooperation, Yunlong took the opportunity to commend Ethiopia's ongoing development activities. He specifically highlighted the visible changes he observed in Addis Ababa.

Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh later shared Yunlong's remarks on social media, quoting the Chinese official as saying the capital "has changed significantly." This commendation from a senior figure leading a delegation focused on economic ties underscores the positive view of Ethiopia's trajectory.

Reinforcing this positive assessment, Yunlong also indicated that Ethiopia is seen as an appealing destination for Chinese investors. This perspective suggests that the development witnessed contributes directly to enhancing the country's attractiveness on the global investment stage.

The meeting between the deputy prime minister and the Chinese delegation explored concrete avenues for boosting bilateral investment, stimulating economic growth, and expanding trade volumes. This engagement reflects the shared commitment of both countries to leverage their strong strategic partnership.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a key outcome of the meeting was a shared understanding and commitment to further strengthen this strategic partnership, particularly within the economic realm. This mutual agreement highlights the resilience of the relationship and its potential for continued growth, even in dynamic global conditions.
