Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos has met with Canadian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Joshua Tabah, and Canadian Special Envoy to the African Union, Ben Marc Diendéré, on Tuesday to discuss a range of national and regional issues.
During the meeting held at his office, Minister Gedion emphasized the long-standing and historical relationship between Ethiopia and Canada, highlighting the potential for further strengthening these ties. He also provided the Canadian officials with an update on the progress of the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement.
Ambassador Joshua Tabah reaffirmed Canada's commitment to enhancing its relationship with Ethiopia. He noted that recent visits by high-level Canadian delegations to Ethiopia demonstrate Canada's strong interest in bolstering bilateral ties. The Ambassador also emphasized that the relationship between the two countries extends beyond government collaboration to include strong people-to-people connections.
