Addis Ababa Hosts Over 12,000 Guests at Successful 38th African Union Summit

Addis Ababa has hosted a record-breaking 38th African Union Summit, drawing over 12,000 attendees from across the continent and beyond, the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. The impressive guest list included 30 presidents, 3 vice presidents, 5 prime ministers, 17 first ladies, one king, and officials from non-African nations.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, hailed the summit as a resounding success for Ethiopia, highlighting its reinforcement of Addis Ababa's status as a key political and diplomatic center for Africa. She further emphasized the summit's role in showcasing the city's potential as a significant trade and investment hub.

Ambassador Birtukan stated that the summit inspired a new generation with its focus on economic integration and infrastructural development, signifying a burgeoning Pan-African movement.

She concluded by expressing the Ethiopian government's gratitude to all stakeholders, particularly the residents of Addis Ababa and Ethiopia, for their exceptional hospitality and unwavering support in ensuring the summit's success.
