Ethiopia, Japan Discuss Investment, Horn of Africa Security

State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga Moach , this morning held talks at his office with the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Eri Arfiya bilateral, regional and international issues.

Ambassador Mesganu called on Japanese companies to invest in Ethiopia as the economic reforms being implemented in Ethiopia have created vast investment opportunities.

The State Minister said the security threat in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa is not only regional but also a global common security threat. He said, Ethiopia will continue to strengthen its efforts for peace and stability in the region.

He called on Japan to further strengthen its historical relations with Ethiopia through economic relations and to strengthen its official development assistance.

Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Eri Arfia, on her part, said Ethiopia is a key country for regional peace and stability in the region.

She said, Japan appreciates Ethiopia’s significant contribution to regional peace and stability.

The Vice Minister also reaffirmed her country’s commitment to further strengthening its multifaceted relations with Ethiopia.
