Ethiopia's Election Board Revokes TPLF's Legal Status for Electoral Violations

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has revoked the legal status of TPLF.

In a statement The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) issued today, TPLF has been revoked from participating in any political activities of the country for three consecutive months.

The statement revealed the decision was made due to the party's failure to comply with electoral regulations and requirements.

NEBE cited multiple violations, including failure to submit required reports and fulfill organizational obligations.

"The decision is based on Proclamation No. 1162/2011 and Directive No. 1332/2016, which govern political parties and elections" the statement underlined.

The statement said NEBE follows several warnings and legal notices issued to the party, which TPLF failed to address.

As a result, Unless TPLF has taken corrective measures due given period, the party can no longer participate in elections or operate as a legal political entity in Ethiopia.
