Turkey's Sirakaya Hails PM Abiy Ahmed's Vision for a Prosperous Africa

The Deputy Chairman of Turkey's AK Party, Zafer Sirakaya, has praised Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's message delivered at the Prosperity Party congress, stating that the ideas presented are not only beneficial for Ethiopia but also for the prosperity of Africa as a whole.

The Prosperity Party's second general congress, themed "From Word to culture," commenced in Addis Ababa at the Adwa Victory Memorial, with high-ranking officials from various sister parties attending.

Sirakaya lauded Prime Minister Abiy's strong and comprehensive message, expressing confidence that the implementation of the ideas presented would lead to a prosperous Ethiopia, a prosperous Horn of Africa, and ultimately, a prosperous Africa. He expressed hope that the Prime Minister would translate his words into action and that the decisions made at the congress would contribute to peace and development in Africa and the world.

He highlighted Ethiopia's rich history, culture, diversity, and resilience, emphasizing its significant role in African history and its long-standing sovereignty. He noted Ethiopia's history of supporting freedom fighters in other parts of the world.

Sirakaya emphasized the shared spirit of independence and sovereignty between Turkey and Ethiopia, highlighting their strong historical ties dating back to the establishment of formal diplomatic relations in the 1920s – Turkey's first diplomatic mission in sub-Saharan Africa. He described the growing cooperation between the two countries in trade, culture, education, and other fields.

The AK Party, he stated, gives special attention to Ethiopia as the seat of the African Union and is committed to strengthening bilateral development cooperation and mutual benefit. He reiterated Turkey's continued support for peace and stability in the Horn of Africa, emphasizing the principle of African solutions to African problems. Turkey, he concluded, will continue its cooperation for the peace and development of the region.
