Amhara Region Pledges Support to ICRC Humanitarian Efforts

The Amhara Regional State government has stated it's readiness to collaborate with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in its humanitarian endeavors, as stated by Regional President Arega Kbede. 

President Arega engaged in discussions with a delegation from the ICRC and the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, focusing on ensuring broad access to humanitarian assistance throughout the region. 

Acknowledging the extensive humanitarian legacy of the ICRC in the area, the president reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to aiding future relief operations. 

Bruce Beaver, the head of the ICRC's Ethiopian delegation, emphasized the organization's past humanitarian initiatives in the northern conflict and affirmed their preparedness to continue providing aid in the Amhara region. 

Yeshambel Wale, the head of the Amhara Regional branch office of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, mentioned ongoing consultations to ensure prompt and sufficient humanitarian services in the region. 

Further engagements with relevant regional office leaders are scheduled to progress towards implementation, as reported by the AMICO news agency.
