Oromia Strives for Lasting Peace

Hailu Adugna, head of the Oromia Regional Communication Bureau, has stated that efforts are underway to transition the region from conflict to sustainable and lasting peace. This statement was made at the 40th Gumi Belel Dialogue Forum, jointly organized by the Oromia President's Office and the Communication Bureau, under the theme "From the Cycle of Conflict to Sustainable Peace Building."

Hailu emphasized the region's strong focus on achieving lasting and reliable peace, moving away from conflict. He acknowledged the public's repeated calls for peace and stressed that everyone shares responsibility for ending the conflict through reconciliation and forgiveness, recognizing that war is not a solution. He highlighted that the dialogue forum was designed to foster peace in the Oromo region and that the initiated peace process marks a new chapter.
