Auditor General: An Audit befitting  the Country’s Growing Economy in the works

 The Federal Auditor-General of Ethiopia says an audit work custom tailored to suiting the growing economy of the country is being done.
The Auditor-General, Meseret Damte, is participating at the 4th Auditor General Conference of the BRICS countries, which focused on auditing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
 Meseret Damte, while speaking at the conference being held in Ufa, Russia, pointed out that several audits have been done in Ethiopia on sustainable development goals.
She also explained that in addition to making the audits accessible to the public through the website, public meetings are being held by the House of Representatives to ensure transparency and accountability.
She also added that efforts are being made to ensure the benefit of citizens by successfully completing huge projects while starting new ones in Ethiopia, which is undergoing rapid development changes.
On the sidelines of the conference,  the Auditor General also held bilateral discussions with the Auditor General Offices of various BRICS member countries, contemporaneously having signed  memoranda of understanding with the Russian Chamber of Accounts and the Brazilian Court of Audit Office on capacity building activities, technology audits and other areas.
The Auditor General is expected to hold similar discussions with the Office of the Auditor Generals of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of India in the coming days.
The information obtained from the Federal Auditor General’s Office indicates that the 4th meeting of the auditors of the BRICS countries is being held from July 31 to  August 2, 2024
