Ethiopia has registered remarkable diplomatic achievements over the last 6 years. This was disclosed during a panel discussion organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the diplomatic accomplishments gained over the reform years.
The event shed the spotlight on Ethiopia’s role in the efforts being made to maintain stability in the Horn of Africa region.
Joining BRICS was a remarkable achievement that will have a paramount effect in uplifting the country’s diplomatic gains, Foreign Minister Taye Atske Selassie said. The foreign minister also recalled the successes achieved regarding Ethiopia’s flagship hydropower project, the GERD.
He also pointed out that the Green Legacy Initiative spearheaded by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was among the very commendable achievements in terms of climate change mitigation.
