European Union Bolesters Ties to Ethiopia, Africa.

The European Union reiterated its commitment to strengthening ties to Ethiopia, particularly in the realms of peace and social development.

the European Union Ambassador to Ethiopia, Roland Kobia, underscored the continental bloc’s significant role as Ethiopia's second-largest partner. He emphasized the EU's steadfast support for Ethiopia's multifaceted development endeavors, including initiatives aimed at fostering peace and bolstering security.

In a press briefing to journalists in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Kobia provided insights into the EU's relationship with Ethiopia and the broader African continent.

He highlighted the EU's eagerness to deepen engagement in enhancing peace and social sectors within Ethiopia, recognizing the pivotal role these sectors play in fostering sustainable development and stability.

Ambassador Kobia's sentiments were echoed by Javier Nino Perez, the Ambassador of the European Union to the African Union, who emphasized the EU's commitment to advocating for Africa to secure a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

"The European Union is steadfast in its commitment to fostering equality and representation for Africa within international institutions. Central to this commitment is our advocacy for Africa to hold a permanent seat on the Security Council. We firmly believe that Africa's inclusion in this critical body is essential for addressing the diverse range of global challenges we face today. By championing Africa's rightful place in international decision-making, we strive to create a more just and inclusive world for all." Perez told journalists.

Perez also emphasized the EU's proactive efforts towards promoting African integration, acknowledging the importance of regional cooperation and collaboration in addressing shared challenges and realizing collective aspirations for progress and prosperity.//
