The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) commenced the official celebration of the 116th Army Day Celebration at Meskel Square in Addis.
A military parade, marsh band orchestra, national anthem and patriotic songs were among the early morning events.
Residents of Addis, members of the army, invited guests, military personnel, high government officials and military officials of various African countries are attending the event.
The Army Day is celebrated annually as the holiday of the ENDF on October 26.
The day marks the establishment of Ministry of Defense of Ethiopia on 26 October 1907.
