Mayor Adanech Abiebie, along with the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Dr. Alemu Sime, have visited the construction of the Kality Cross-Country and Medium-Distance Transport Hub.
The Kality Cross-Country and Medium-Distance Transport Hub, situated on 3.9 hectares of land, is constructed in a location close to the main road.
It will accommodate 120 buses and 7,200 passengers per hour.
It includes a multipurpose building situated on 4,800 square meters, 13 ticket sales offices, cafeterias, shops, meeting halls, and dining areas.
It is a center equipped with over 1,130 resting seats, more than 8,000 square meters of green space, and also has a taxi terminal prepared next to it.
As part of the ongoing work to modernize the public transport system, it enables passengers to receive standard service without being troubled by sun and rain.
Information obtained from the Mayor's Office indicates that, to fulfill this and in the work being done to modernize hubs, the Akaki hub has implemented an electronic ticket sales system and is built to a standard that serves as a model for others.
