A fabricated fake letter, purporting to be a letter of appointment written by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) to Getachew Reda, is circulating on social media.
This fake letter, which was fabricated to appear as if it was written on April 5, 2025, has the title "Regarding the Continuation of the Appointment of Getachew Reda as the Head of the Tigray Regional Interim Administration."
We have confirmed that although appointments made by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) are officially announced on the Prime Minister's Office's official social media page, no statement has been released so far.
It is known that Prime Minister Abiy has called on the public to provide suggestions via email for the selection of the next president of the Tigray Regional Interim Administration.
