Ethiopian Tourism Minister: Wonchi-Dendi Ecotourism Project Fits International Standards

Ethiopian tourism minister claimed the recently inaugurated Wonchi-Dendi Ecotourism adheres to international standards.

The minister, Nanise Chali told EBC the project not only aims to be a plus to Ethiopia’s top tourist destinations, but also to showcase the natural beauty of Ethiopia and bolster the tourism sector.

She also highlighted the significance of the Wonchi project as a testament to what can be achieved by harnessing the beauty of nature across the country.

Nanise further expressed confidence in Ethiopia’s capability to create more tourist destinations through the ambitious "Gebeta Lehager" or “Dine for Ethiopia” projects, by enhancing quality and standards to compete internationally.

Calling on Ethiopians at home and overseas to visit the project, Nanise emphasized the project’s role in revealing Ethiopia’s beauty and historical richness. She particularly urged the second-generation Ethiopian diaspora to witness their country’s splendor and the unique experience acquired from visiting it.

In her call to action, Nanise Chali reached out to the diaspora community to explore Ethiopia’s diverse tourism resources and welcomed those who are already exploring various parts of the country.
