PM Abiy Accentuates on Education for Unlocking Africa's Potential

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stressed that education is crucial for Africa to reach its full potential.

Speaking at the opening of the 37th African Union Summit, PM Abiy said Africa can claim its rightful place in the world if it holds education as a key to moving the continent forward.

Noting Africa's education systems need alignment to serve the continent, PM Abiy called on African leaders to reorient their education systems to unleash the potential of the youth and prepare them to take Africa forward.

The PM stated that Africa was home to ancient civilizations and contributed to world civilization. However, this progress was disrupted during the colonial occupation.

PM Abiy noted that Africa is endowed with natural resources and strong human capacity. Telling Africa's truth and investing in education to develop its people are critical to advancement, he remarked.

The PM urged leaders to make education a top priority as the key to unlocking Africa's immense promise and enabling its youth to build a prosperous future.
